It’s that time of year when I like to give away FREE Halloween goodies to all the wonderful Oct31st.org fans. The first giveaway this year is a Halloween clock with SCARY sounds. At the top of each hour, a spooky sound plays. Don’t worry about it going off at night, a light sensor deactivates when the room is dark. You can hang it on a wall or use the removable stand for tabletop display. It is also equipped with a demo button if you can’t wait to hear the sounds.

I received an email this morning containing coupons for Michaels craft store. The email indicates that many of the items in store are marked down. Faux carve able pumpkins are $8.99, that’s a steal! Many fall items are also on sale. The coupon is a 15% off entire purchase, including ON SALE items. The coupon is only valid Sunday, September 18th, 2011 from 4-8PM. There is also a 40% off coupon valid September 18-24, 2011, for one regular price item.

Most online retailers put merchandise online, much like data entry. They stick their products up, type the information and walk away. It’s not every day that an online retailer creates videos for each of their products, or creates a special “Halloween Haven,” complete with a spectacular promotional video.

What online retailer am I speaking of? Grandin Road! They have unveiled their 2011 Halloween Haven. For those up at midnight, I was lucky enough to see the new promotional video early this year before the reveal this morning. The promotional video shows a variety of themes ranging from Ghosts to Vampires, all while showcasing a variety of products. The video is filmed in such a way that it doesn’t feel like the products “are being sold to you,” it showcases Grandin Roads wonderful Halloween spirit! So much spirit in fact, I believe they are on the same level of the major Halloween retailer, Spirit Halloween.

Martha Stewart products are also featured on Grandin Roads site. What were once more “glittery” products in the past (provided by MSLO), has gone more into the spooky and the macabre. There are some spotlight products here provided by MSLO, including luminaries, silhouettes and some fantastic lab beakers.

The life-size products are the highlight of Grandin Roads product line this year. One of these years I am going to pick up “Endora the Witch,” I have wanted her for some time. There are also some very detailed tombstones, moving zombies, moving hands and some choice tabletop products.
