well a SLIGHT imporvement but not just SLIGHT i’m glad Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice Nightmare Before Christmas, is coming but STILL not worth watch *que the losing horns from The Price is Right while i trun it to NBC*
I haven’t watched their 13 Nights of Halloween in a few years but after looking at this line up, I’ll be watching it this year!! I agree that I’m not very impressed with it but at least they’re making an effort to bring some Halloween to the TV! I’ll be watching Hocus Pocus for sure!
Me too, Hocus Pocus remains not just one of my seasonal favorites but also a favorite in general! I wish a special edition DVD of Hocus Pocus would come out!
No moms got a date with a vampire?
It is better then last year, no Harry Potter, no Mask or random disney animated films. But what I dont get is that “Pretty Little Liars” took up the first night, when it should be on the night before, and the starting line-up for the first night should be a back to back Tim Burton line-up.
The movie will probably show on Disney channel. Will post the Halloween tv guide soon!
What ever happened to them showing the Scariest Places on Earth? I used to look forward to watching that and Hocus Pocus each year
what happened to the cartoon specials like “disneys halloween treat” and “disneys villians” and so on? I grew up watching those my dad evn taped them onvhs 4 us, but there getting old. It wld be nice for the newer generation to watch them.
I also looked forward to scariest places on earth and all of that but this sched looks so much better than last years.
Hocus Pocus
)
I CANT BELIEVE HALLOWEEN TOWN IS NOT ON THAT IS A CLASSIC 13 NIGHTS OF HALLOWEEN MOVIE!
can i ask what the heck Willy Wonka has to do with Halloween??
What ever happened to all the big Halloween movies like Sleepy hollow or When Good Ghouls go Bad. Or when the creepy crypt keeper use to host it! Goosebumps!!!!
@ kelly
Thats a disney channle movie, abc family wont air that. But however it is on this sunday night, with the rest of them to follow over the 4 days
I’m so happy to see Hocus Pocus is being shown more this year. I remember a couple of years ago they played the movie ONCE and it was at a horrible time (Like 1pm or something). I’m in my 20′s and I still watch it every year with my family. It looks like a lot of people here do too
. It’s become a Halloween tradition for us. I wish they would bring back some of the movies they showed before ABC took over the network. They a lot of good movies with very little filler shows back than.
I wish you still showed, “When good ghouls go bad” that show is awesome.
you mean ABC?
Good question. I guess they assume candy=Halloween.
Other channels may show Sleepy Hollow. Keep looking at the TV guide to see if it airs!
i think the line up is horrible. i watch the 13 nights of halloween every year with my children and its getting worst and worst. they are constantly repeating shows and playing shows/movies that are even halloween”ish” in any way!! there are soo many different halloween shows that they could play and i feel like theres a major lack of effort when putting the schedule together
Yes Daryl, I agree. Don’t fret too much though. The TV guide on this site will be full of specials and movies airing on TV. ABC family is not the only channel airing Halloween specials and movies. Stay tuned!
The Haunted Mansion 2003 Movie
What about Spooky Bats and Scaredy Cats? I have not been able to find it on for the past two years? Any idea?
absolutey LOVE LOVE LOVE that hocus pocus is going to be showing a lot more this year..very excited to see pretty little liars halloween episode..good line up this year!! =)
I have never heard of this movie! I did look around online and didn’t find much about it. It aired on TV and is only available on DVD overseas, region 2 dvd. Region 2 dvd can be played on a region free dvd player or player where you can change the region. Also, many newer dvd players on computers can be changed to play region 2 dvds. Good luck!
Scariest Places on Earth has been on the Travel Channel. I noticed it this past week, one after another. Also, I love Hocus Pocus! I could watch that movie over and over and by the looks of this line up this year, I will be able to!
Happy Halloween everyone!
Great. I will have to post that! Thanks for the heads up Lisa!! I too love Hocus Pocus, its great. Perhaps its Halloween movie night tonight. Happy Halloween to you too!
I am SO glad that they put The Nightmare Before Christmas on! its one of my favorites of Tim Burton! Definately going to get it on tape! I love how they put on Hocus Pocus on every Halloween night. Anyone else notice that?
I have been watching the 13 Nights of Halloween for as long as i can remember. Absolutely my favorite time of year. I look forward to it all year.
Does anyone remember the Mary Kate and Ashley movie Double Double Toil and Trouble? I haven’t seen in on TV in years. I know it’s somewhat of a children’s movie, but it’s a really cute Halloween movie, and actually has a really good plot to it. I wish they would play more of the movies they played when I was a kid.
I am totally excited for the movie line up for this years, 13 Nights of Halloween. They could have added somemore Halloween related movies but what they have is good too. I think the reason they added the Willy Wonka movies is because of the whole candy scene. I love Hocus Pocus so much and I’m glad its going to be on. I wish you all have an exciting Halloween. Eat lots of candy!
Does anyone know the name of this movie (it’s my daughters fav). It is a cartoon about a little girl whose brother and his friends make her go into a “haunted house” and she finds a nice witch, who is having a Halloween party with vampire parents and their son, awerewolf and other monsters. PLEASE help I cant remember the name of it, it also has a part 2!
Hi Pamela, the movie is called Scary Godmother. You can watch it and the sequel online on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6SqA2UF-cs
I am SOOOOO happy ABC Family listened to the viewers and is going to play some REAL Halloween movies (unlike Pirates of the Carribean for example, that they tried to pass off as a Halloween movie last year!) I am excited to see the movies in the line up and can’t wait to watch them. NOW, I am hoping and praying they improve the Christmas line up, back to the good old Christmas movies they used to have. (they need to stop passing Pixar movies and Harry Potter movies as Christmas. It is not fair to those of us who can watch those movies anytime we want during the year. PLEASE bring back Christmasy things!!!!! =0) (Movies like Three Days, The Christmas List, It Nearly Wasn’t Christmas, AND MORE CARTOONS!!…I could go on and on….
[...] Ummm…can you say ABC Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween? Duh. Check out the full 2011 schedule here. [...]
Is this PST? I really want to make sure I am around to watch Death Becomes Her! The best Halloween movie ever! (me and my roommate will be the only ones watching it)
Am I blind or is there really no Corpse Bride?
I’m actually really happy they are playing Death Becomes Her hahaha as a child (don’t ask me why) my parents let me watch it and its always been one of those movies i’ve never forgotten because of how ridiculous it is. Other than that I agree, it’s a pretty mediocre line-up. Since when are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Willy Wonka Halloween movies?!
For those wondering what Willy Wonka’ Chocolate Factory has to do w/ halloween (And Charlie….) : Did you watch the tunnel scene as a small child? Heck, I’m a grown up and it still makes me feel uneasy! How about the fact that people are injured by the candy they ingest. What, the thought of being squeezed like a blueberry, or chopped up by a fan not frightening, to you? Willy Wonka is a bit bonkers. Crazies are always a little scary.
Anyway, just thought I’d share my opinion, in hopes to clarify…
P.S.: 4 words– “umpaloompas.” chilling!
[...] One of my favorite Halloween movies is Hocus Pocus. Released by Walt Disney Pictures in 1993, it stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy at 3 “back from the dead” witches out on the prowl to gain eternal life. Moments of fun and moments of fright make this a wonderful spooky movie that the whole family can enjoy. And the whole family will love this soup too. Note: Hocus Pocus airs on ABC Family Channel during the month of October. Listings here. [...]
yay scooby doo!!!!!!!! im so exited for 13 days of halloween
p.s.they should show more full house on reguler abc family :/
Why is everyone hating on Harry Potter? I want to know how it DIDN’T make this lineup! Basically all I have to look forward to is Monsters Inc. and Hocus Pocus!
I hope Harry Potter makes it to the Christmas lineup again. It may not be very relevant to the holiday of Christmas, but it’s a great series of movies to sit down with your family in a nice, warm house and watch together while it snows outside
im 34 years old but i love, love, love kiddy scary movies!! this year i will tune in for most! hocus pocus, MY FAV!!!! addams family movies, coraline, the nightmare before christmas, haunted mansion!! i love it!!! i cant wait to share with my almost 3 year old!!!! and sure! charlie and the chocolate factory isnt hollowee, but i love that one too and will watch!! wish my dvr had more memory : (
Im so exited to have a halloween movie nite with my family while baking halloween cookies an decorating the housee:)
Extremely happy wat watch the corpse bride, hocus pocus, nitemare before cristmass an beetlejuice an hopefuly caroline:)
A whole night, the first one no less!, devoted to Pretty Little Liars????? Who even watches that show and it has NOTHING to do with Halloween. Neither does Willy Wonka/Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Im also not impressed by the frequent repeats of movies from night to night when there are so many other Halloween movies that could be played-even on ABC Family channel!
very disappointing
Ive watched 13 Nights of Halloween since i was little & this year definately looks strong! I’m really impressed with the lineup ABC
.. but i have to say i’m kind of shocked that Halloweentown isnt on the lineup, that’s a classic! And did you ever consider bringing back Are You Afraid of the Dark? i know it was a Nick show if i remember correctly, but its classic halloween.
No HalloweenTown? That’s a pretty big disappointment
Halloweentown is on Disney Channel!
why is it that for the past 3 years they have been showing Teen Witch at the crack of dawn??? I love this movie it was filmed at my high school (before i went there) but still i love this movie….thank god for DVR
Yes Im not very impressed at all. They are so many other good Halloween movies you could have put on. Ill watch some but not all…..
You can watch Teen Witch in parts on Youtube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkjFSU3Uaz8
I am disappointed Teen Witch is on so early too! It is my favorite movie during Halloween too watch. I don’t have dvr either so unless I get up early I am bummin.
yeessss!! TEEN WITCH!! BEEN WANTING TO WATCH IT LIKE CRAAZZZYYYYY!!!!
this year is for the 13 nights of halloween i am not to fond of it because i was hoping you guys would of had the movie edword sicesors hand because i really like tht movie it’s maybe my best movie tht johnny deip ever did it has a lot of meanning to this movie thts why i am ask this because i know you guys put this movie on last year for ghe 13 nights of hallown so yaa write back as soon as possible thanks
Why no “under wraps”? Its a 90′s kid classic!!
Will they ever bring back “Scariest Places On Earth”? I used to look forward watchin those episodes.
Still no scariest places on earth…booooo, only show i wanted to watch….thanks for ruining that….again
Under wraps is on youtube! Search for Under Wraps Part 1
The line up this year is okay I guess. I’ve seen better years, they shouldn’t repeat the movies so much. I like that the haunted mansion is on the list & hocus pocus. It’d be cool to have its a great pumpkin Charlie brown & part two of scooby doo.
I am loving this years line up for 13 Nights of Halloween. It’s one out of the two times a year that I look forward to holiday related movies (Christmas being the other holiday). I can’t wait to see the Corpse Bride because it NEVER airs on TV the other 364 days out of the year. Verizon FIOS only offers in On Demand and I’m not paying $3 to watch it once or $10 to own it on my TV, that’s ridiculous. I agree with everyone who misses “Scariest Place on Earth” because it’s one of the only shows I watched that visits haunted places because it’s not crappily staged like Taps or any of that garbage. Oh and because Halloweentown 1 or 2 aren’t being aired this year, I got them through netflix. For those of you who are dying to see it, they have it on a combo disc with both 1 & 2 so you don’t have to order them separately. Hope everyone has a good Halloween, I’ll definitely be enjoying the days leading up to it with what movies ABC Family is showing.
I agree with most of the comments above. I think this year’s line-up was better than last year, but definitely not terrific. i LOVE watching abc’s 13 nights of halloween so i figured id give some suggestions for next so it can redeem itself ![]()
(some ideas I took from above comments)… scariest places on earth, double double toil and trouble, haunted mansion, halloweentown, casper, hocus pocus (obviously), disneys the legend of sleep hallow, donald duck trick or treat, corpse bride, nightmare before christmas, monster house, ghost busters?, Mickeys house of villains, scooby-doo and the witches ghost, tower of terror, teen witch, practical magic, beetlejuice, maybe monsters inc. ummm yeah, thats all i can think of right now. Just some suggestions, hope it helps!
let me know if you agree or disagree to any.. i was just throwing out some ideas

[...] Oct Halloween is almost here! It’s time to watch classic scary movies every night on T.V. (Beetlejuice or Hocus Pocus, anyone?) and visit haunted houses and corn mazes. As the goulish [...]
What is up with Haunted Mansion guys. I mean you only are playing Hocus Pocus like 5 times. Corpse Bride is only played onced. What if I was busy that night organizing my sock drawer and was unable to watch it. What am I supposed to do now. I still have never seen Corpse Bride, but like whatever mannnnn.
So in conclusion…. NO Haunted Mansion whatsoever, dont even think about it, and at least triple the amount of times Hocus Pocus is being played. Also Under Wraps is like the most super fabolous totally awesomeist movie this side of val halla!!!!!!!! So include it next time or beware.
Sincerely,
Your Biggest fan ABC Family for LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
